Dear Friends and Family,
I hope you are all doing well and that you have felt the loving-kindness of our Lord in a profound way in this season, despite this long and rather dark time that the world has been in with Covid-19. It’s been drawn-out and hard on so many people, but God has been working and speaking even in the midst of it. And it finally seems like it's beginning to pass. I imagine that it will be a very long time before we get back to any sort of “normal”, but it is so encouraging to see businesses opening, people returning to their jobs, and restrictions beginning to lift.
For us here, this last month has still been greatly impacted by the current precautionary regulations in terms of no large gatherings and a more complicated situation with transportation (less freedom to circulate, so less opportunities to meet even in small groups). So with our limited options, the main thing we’ve been able to do has just been doing more one-on-one. We have people over often, sometimes just to spend time with them, and sometimes to study books or discuss Bible stories. We are hoping to start a small Bible study this next week, as the restrictions will now allow for it. Hallelujah! We also are continuing to have our Facebook live worship nights, in fact we will be doing one tonight! That’s been so fun for us and we hope to develop it into a more public thing here in our house and invite more people over this next month. Also, back in March, I had written about the church kitchen that we were working on in preparation for the team that ended up being cancelled-- we had to call off the work due to all businesses being closed and no way of buying more materials. This month though, we were able to get the windows put in (first ones in the entire church!) and the electricity installed. Hopefully soon we’ll be able to get the floor down and paint and get it all finished! I’m so excited to see how it turns out.
We are certainly less active and news-filled than I wish we were, but God is still at work, and during this time of less activities, He’s been speaking to us and giving us sweet time with Him. We thank you all for your support, it is so encouraging and humbling for us. Blessings to you all!
